For individuals

Whether you dream of becoming a World Champion or whether you’re interested in Skiing or wakeboarding for fun and fitness, you need to start somewhere.

At the BDWSA we try and make taking the first steps in water skiing as easy as possible, regardless of the challenges that individuals may face.

Regular novice days between May and October at the national as well as regional centres provide an opportunity to join in on a structured day, normally providing two assisted and instructed skis to each skier in either a morning or afternoon session.  BDWSA instructors and helpers are on hand throughout all novice days to provide instruction tailored to individual skiers needs.

If you can’t make one of our scheduled novice days, it’s possible that we can arrange for instruction at other times or accommodate you on ‘open days’ or ‘funded courses’ all of which are designed to introduce water skiing to new people.

For all of our newcomers, equipment is provided including wetsuits (or drysuits), buoyancy aids, helmets and a comprehensive range of skis and wakeboards for both regular or seated skiing.  Complimenting the basics is a range of adaptive equipment developed over 20 years by the BDWSA to accelerate the learning process including the Triple bar and Delga sling.

To get started all you need is your enthusiasm, your swim gear and a towel!
